Values and Beliefs

As your potential sheriff, I am committed to upholding the legacy of excellence established by Sheriff Wallin and former Sheriff Bodzick in our department. My vision is to foster stronger connections with the wonderful people of Emmet County through increased in-person contact and community engagement. I pledge to prioritize the safety and well-being of our residents by implementing continued business and property checks, as well as ensuring timely follow-ups with victims to address any concerns they may have. Education and prevention are paramount to me, which is why I aim to enhance our presence in schools and advocate for more resource officers. Additionally, I am dedicated to providing ongoing training for our deputies to ensure they are well-prepared for their duties. Transparency and accessibility are key values of my administration. I promise to maintain an open-door policy, making myself readily available to listen and address the concerns of the public.Emmet County holds a special place in our hearts, and I am committed to preserving its greatness and making it the best it can be.
